Firefly Gardens began in 2016 when the owners bought eight acres in Midlothian, Texas, with a house, barn, and pond on the property. You feel secluded in the country but are only 30 minutes away from Dallas-Fort Worth. The owners designed the main reception hall and renovated the main house. The company is run by a mother, daughter, and son team who operate all aspects of our venue, from booking clients to being there on the day of the event.
Couples say that they enjoy working with Firefly staff because they are a family-owned and operated business. At least one member of the mother, daughter, and son team will be at every event to ensure that everything is running smoothly. The team is meticulous with details to make each couple’s day as smooth as possible. We have a 4,000-square-foot main house fully equipped with a kitchen, pool, salon, bathrooms, and rooms, if the bride chooses to get ready there. In the main reception hall is another bridal suite, the groom’s suite, a bar, and kitchen for caterers. There are a multitude of options for ceremony locations at our venue, including inside the reception hall and at our outdoor pergola. Some couples have also chosen to have their ceremony under a pecan tree by the limestone creek behind the venue, beside our fish pond on the lawn, and in front of our rustic white barn. Firefly is invested in clients’ happiness with the success of their event.
Ceremonies can technically be held anywhere outside but usually are under the outdoor pergola. Up to 250 outdoor padded chairs are placed in front of the pergola, or anywhere on the lawn if the couple wishes to have their ceremony somewhere else outside. We have had ceremonies near the creek at the back of the venue, beside the fish pond, or on the lawn. Microphones are available for the ceremony outside and music. Live musicians or singers are welcomed.
Receptions take place inside the reception hall, but guests are free to move around all parts of the venue outside. The reception hall has an outdoor covered area so that food and drinks can be catered outside. Many couples also place games or photo ops outside of the reception hall.
