“I hate the chaos of a buffet,” says Amy. “I wanted everyone to have good conversation, so we did a seated dinner. I loved that, because you could really enjoy who you were sitting by.”

The chapel’s aisle was lined with arrangements of roses and baby’s breath created by GRO Floral & Event Design. “I wanted the space to feel like clouds,” says Amy. “I just love how simple it was.”

“The cake was a complete surprise,” says Amy of the four-tier bridal confectionary featuring ornate icing detail and cascading flowers. “I just gave them my sister’s artwork [from the invitations] and [Montage Palmetto Bluff] took care of it.”

Signature cocktails included a blackberry bramble, pictured here, and a spiked lavender lemonade. “We both love espresso martinis, so that was the late-night drink,” says Amy.

The bride wore a Galia Lahav gown that featured a corset top and applique flowers cascading down the bodice and skirt. “I always wanted a big ball gown,” she says. “My veil was sparkly, too. I’m such a sparkly person that when I put on the veil, everyone was like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so you.’ ”

Amy’s two sisters married in Dallas, so she wanted to do something different for her wedding day. At the advice of a friend, the couple toured Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina. They knew right away it was their perfect destination wedding venue. “After walking up to the chapel, Payne immediately got emotional,” says Amy. “In that moment, we knew.”

Amy’s sister also designed the escort cards, which were made in the shapes of birds and butterflies. “Butterflies have always been my thing,” says Amy.
