After Glow: An outdoor reception at Graham’s family’s home in Lake City followed the ceremony. About two dozen friends and family traveled to the remote area to attend.

Any Bloomin’ Thing: “I knew my color palette—that’s never changed—so I sent it to my wholesale florist and said, ‘Pull me the best flowers you have in this color palette this weekend and fly them to Colorado,’ “ remembers Alexa. “They pulled flowers I’ve never seen before—incredible stuff—and that helped make it really special and different.”

Memorable Moments: Dog-of-honor Baloo stole the show. Alexa says the 5-year-old Havanese “was a good stress relief throughout the day.” Alexa’s bridesmaids wore crisp white J.Crew shirts paired with emerald green skirts handmade by Etsy vendor Breauxsews.

More is More: “I really like layered tablescapes,” Alexa says. “I like textural and rich things. I love color, and I love classic.” Debby Jewesson, owner and creative director of Branching Out Floral and Event Design, where Alexa works, chose a number of options from Posh Couture Rental. Debby and Alexa started with the green charger as a base for building up colors and textures.

Rock, Paper, Porcelain: Alexa recreated their invitation suite two weeks prior to the wedding to reflect the new location. Hummingbirds were a key part of the day’s design, having special significance for the bride. The Herend bird seen here was a gift from Graham when their plans were shaken up.

Wedding Pro Alexa Morton Says I Do to Graham Breeden in a Mountainside Ceremony

Some couples are two of a kind. In the case of Alexa Morton and Graham Breeden, who have known each other since middle school, the dynamic would more aptly be described as “opposites attract.” Yet, says Alexa, “He has always been the person who has been a light for me during tough times.” Wedding planning would require similar fortitude, as COVID forced a pivot from a 175-person celebration in the resort town of Crested Butte to a small reception at Graham’s family home in Lake City, Colorado, following a scenic waterside ceremony.
