This Groom Surprised His Bride with a Serenade at Their Barnyard Wedding

Christina Swisher and David Collins met their sophomore year at Baylor University but didn’t go on their first date for another five years. But who’s counting? Well, David was. He proposed to Christina with a letter that added up the days between meeting and going on their first date—and all that time he had been crazy about her. On April 23, 2017, they married at The White Sparrow Barn, which was designed as a “secret garden.” And David was keeping his own secret: He surprised his bride with a serenade of Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing,” to which Christina says, “Could he be any dreamier?”
