Married: Stephanie Ann Taylor & Matthew Steven Muckleroy

The Couple

Stephanie Ann Taylor and Matthew Steven Muckleroy were married in Sonoma Valley on March 24, 2018. The bride, 36, was born and raised in Dallas. She graduated from Texas Tech, where she studied communications and is the VP of Business of Development at the Lakewood office of the Republic Title of Texas. The groom, 37, grew up in the Woodlands. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in finance and then went on to receive a law degree from SMU. He works as a commercial litigator at Muckleroy, PLLC. The couple lives in Lakewood, near White Rock Lake, with their dog Samson.

The Story

Stephanie and Matthew were set-up by a mutual couple friend, Clay and Gable Roby: Stephanie had grown up with Gable in Lakewood, and Matt had gone to college with both Clay and Gable. The couple dated for a little over three years before Matt surprised Stephanie with a proposal at Klyde Warren Park. One Friday, he told Stephanie that they were meeting his co-workers for a drink at Savor. When they pulled up, Matt suggested they check out the view on the park. “I immediately knew something was up,” remembers Stephanie. “We walked to the middle of the park, and Matt got down on one knee. I say ‘yes!’ before he even finished asking me the question!” Matt was full of surprises that evening: he had hired a photographer to capture the entire proposal, and afterwards, they celebrated at Del Frisco’s for dinner. On their way home, they stopped for a celebratory drink where they had had their first date, Sundown at the Granada. “When we walked out onto the rooftop patio, Matt surprised me with all our closest friends, family, and co-workers. I think there were nearly 75 people there!”

The Wedding

Stephanie and Matt were set to have their destination wedding in Sonoma Valley in October of last year, but unfortunately, their plans were foiled by the infamous wildfires. They ended up postponing their wedding last minute to the following March. “It was a whirlwind of emotions,” remembers Stephanie. “Flights and accommodations canceled for over 100 people? However, our story here has a very happy ending.” Miraculously, all their original vendors were able to reschedule, and they worked to make the postponement an easy transition. “Many of our vendors I consider new lifelong friends,” Stephanie says. The couple wed in California wine country in spring, with a rustic color story of navy, burgundy, and blush to match.
