The Couple

Leland and JD met online and chatted for a few days before exchanging numbers. They chose Lucky’s, their favorite restaurant on Oak Lawn, for their first in-person meet-up. The two enjoyed each other’s company even more than the warm mugs of coffee and breakfast. Needless to say, they have been together ever since.

JD graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in marketing. Leland graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree of science in nursing. JD is a licensed real estate agent working for Rogers Healy and Associates, as well as a spin instructor at Lync Cycling. Leland is a registered nurse at Medical City Dallas.

The Proposal

A few weeks prior to St. Patrick’s Day, a family offered JD and Leland tickets to Pat Green’s concert at The Rustic. They, along with a few other friends, accepted the tickets. During the concert, they all made it to the front of the stage, but near the end of the show, Leland realized she had lost JD. She texted him. He told her to meet him backstage, saying he said he had met someone who would introduce them to Pat Green. They stood together, watching the show from behind until Pat Green suddenly turned offstage and escorted the couple on stage. JD proposed with the microphone in his hand, while Pat Green serenaded them in front of the entire audience. Several of the couple’s friends and family members cheered from the crowd.

The Wedding

They will marry at the Nasher Sculpture Center on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
