First Look: Spring/Summer 2020

Today’s the day! Our Spring/Summer 2020 issue hits newsstands, and if you haven’t already received one in the mail, drop by your local grocery store, bookstore, or pharmacy to grab a copy.

You might recall that while we were working on the last edition (Fall/Winter 2019), the D Weddings team redesigned the magazine, breaking the book into three sections (I Will, I Do, and We Did), so this was the second issue produced using the refreshed style.

So what can you expect to see as you turn the pages? Well first and foremost, 15 real weddings. With pastels dominating, every feature will transport you to warmer weather and right into your dream spring affair. The weddings span from The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek to Colorado, Florida, and South Carolina, right back to Dallas at the Adolphus, Knotting Hill Place, a few private residences, and beyond.

Sandwiched between the real weddings, you will find a feature dedicated to the year 2020 where we picked 20 trends from the past that are making a comeback and—in our opinion—are here to stay. Think: something blue, cake toppers, and all-things white.

But before you get to the “I Do” section, you’ll open to “I Will” which covers everything from determining which type of wedding planner best suits your needs (à la month-of, partial planning, full planning, etc.), everything to know about bubbles (the ones you drink), pearls, and rehearsal dinners. We’ve also included a reception field guide to help you navigate the wildcards on your wedding invite list, which also just might be one of our favorite features. That’s not everything “I Do” holds, but we don’t want to give it all away.

Like a cute little bookend, “We Did” closes out the issue. Here you’ll see a comeback of the “Moments” section which made its debut in our last issue, along with some timely advice on buying your first house, and of course tips for honeymoon packing.

With 192 pages of pure wedding goodness, there’s no way we could include every detail in this one post, so stay up-to-date with dweddings.com, as we’ll be rolling out the content little by little. But no one wants to wait for that, so go get the goods now! Your dream wedding is just one trip to the store away.
