Great Escapes: Our Favorite Dallas Spas for Pre-Wedding R&R

Fill your cup with some well-deserved R&R at these three Dallas day spas.

A Couple’s Staycation

The Spa at Thompson Dallas

  • The Vibe: Sexy and chic
  • The Amenities: Hot and cold plunge pools, steam room, infrared sauna, and barrel sauna
  • Most Unique Thing We Tried: Thompson Total Wellness—a head-to-toe treatment that com-bines a massage, a facial, and a body wrap, with gua sha and hot stones thrown in for good measure
  • Our Takeaway: With skilled practitioners and serene, generously sized treatment rooms and lounge areas, the Thompson is a welcome addition to the Dallas wellness roster. While it made for an exciting view, the rooftop location of the hot and cold plunge pools was less than enticing on the frigid day we visited; plan for weather if your plans include taking a dip. Notably, it was the only spa we visited that offered hair services.
Crescent Spa
Hotel Crescent Court’s* newly renovated 22,000-square-foot spa offers 16 treatment rooms, fitness and wellness facilities, and a Cryotherapy chamber.

A Day of Pampering with Your Ladies

The Spa at the Crescent

  • The Vibe: Bright, white, and ladylike
  • The Amenities: Whirlpool with hot and cold plunge, sauna, steam room, and cryotherapy chamber
  • Most Unique Thing We Tried:Montalcino Thermal Mud—a detoxifying, immunity-boosting, anti-cellulite body treatment that involves slathering the body with mud from the thermal waters of Montalcino, Tuscany
  • Our takeaway: Entering and exiting through the workout room made the experience feel more like part of a wellness regimen than a true escape—but a complimentary glass of champagne helped erase any guilt we felt for skipping a sweat sesh. Specialized treatment options (CBD massages, a sensitivity-remedy facial, cryotherapy) allow for a tailor-made experience.

Spa at the Joule
The Spa at The Joule

A Solo Self-Care Escape

The Spa at the Joule

  • The Vibe: Moody and cavelike
  • The amenities: Eucalyptus steam room, sauna, and vitality pool
  • Most unique thing we tried: A tie between the customized massage—during which we tried everything from lymphatic drainage to cupping—and the Earth Inspired Body Ritual, which involved a continuous oil pour to our third eye, melting away stress
  • Our takeaway: There’s something transportive about descending the stairs into the dimly lit, sensory-stimulating, subterranean space; worries fade with each step, and your concept of time is lost in the best possible way. Services, providers, and amenities here are all top-notch—make time (and bring your suit) for the vitality pool. If we had to find a flaw, the sound system in our treatment room was a little tinny. But we’re really reaching.
